You may place holds on books within the CSN Libraries collection, or you may place an ILL request for items not found within our collection, which will be placed on hold for you upon arrival.

Placing a hold on a CSN library book:

  • First, be sure that you are logged in to your CSN Libraries account. This can be done from the "My Account" dropdown menu by selecting "Account Overview" and using your credentials, OR if you have located the book you would like to request already, using the "Sign in" link in the yellow highlighted box in the "Find in Library" section of the book's record page. You may also use this link.
  • Once you are logged in and have found the desired title, find the "Find in Library" section of the book's record and click the blue "Request" link.
  • Fill out the request form, all required fields will be marked with a red asterisk *
  • Click the green "Send Request" button
  • You will be notified by email when your book is ready for be picked up at the desired location.

Placing a request for an ILL item:

  • If there is a title that you would like that CSN Libraries does not own within it's collection, you may place a request for the item using your CSN ILL account. To access this account, use the "Library Services" dropdown menu to select "Interlibrary Loan" or click here
  • Use your credentials (these are the same credentials used to access your CSN Library account and Canvas) to log in.
  • Once logged in, look to the right hand side of your ILL account home page and click the blue "Create Request" button.
  • Select the form you think best suits your request: Article/Chapter, Book, or Other.
  • Fill out the form. Required fields will be marked with a black asterisk *, but fill out as many fields as you can for the best results.
  • Click the blue "Submit Request" button at the bottom of the form.
  • You will receive an email when your item is ready for pick up.

If you have questions or need help with any part of either of these processes, please reach out to library staff for assistance, we're happy to help.
